Revivogen adds two new topical DHT inhibitors

Los Angeles - Advanced Skin and Hair, Inc. announced today that it has made new improvements to their Revivogen natural anti-DHT formula.

Revivogen is a topical DHT inhibitor that’s made from natural plant extracts and is used to treat thinning hair and hair loss.

“In keeping with our commitment to provide the most powerful products for androgenic alopecia using scientifically proven natural ingredients, we have added two new powerful anti-DHT ingredients to the Revivogen formula,” says Dr. Alex Khadavi, board-certified dermatologist and creator of the Revivogen product.

The two new ingredients added are Octyl Gallate and Dodecyl Gallate. According to a study published in Biochemistry and Pharmacology Journal (1) , among multiple natural ingredients that have the potential for inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase activity, Octyl Gallate and Dodecyl Gallate have the greatest inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase activity in both cell-free and whole cell assays in vitro.

“The significance of this finding is that not only do Octyl Gallate and Dodecyl Gallate inhibit both forms of 5-alpha-reductase enzyme (type I and type II), but more importantly they can penetrate the cell membrane and inhibit the enzyme while the cells are in culture. Since 95% of DHT is produced inside the cell, the ability of these ingredients to enter intact living cells is vital for effective inhibition of 5-alpha-reductase enzyme and reducing DHT production,” adds Revivogen co-founder Dr. Alan Shargani.

After further investigation and testing, Octyl Gallate and Dodecyl Gallate were proven to be safe, effective and capable of enhancing the results of the existing Revivogen formula.

“These newly added ingredients make Revivogen the only product that contains the most powerful and scientifically proven natural anti-DHT ingredients,” says Dr. Khadavi.

In addition to these ingredients, Revivogen also contains other natural ingredients which are proven to block the androgen receptor and stimulate the hair follicle’s growth, providing a comprehensive natural solution for those suffering from hair loss.

The new formula has been available and shipped to all customers and vendors since September 2006. The new changes are not reflected in the product packaging yet.
