Interessant apparaat, en inderdaad zeer indrukwekkende befores and afters!

Deze tekst is wel interessant, hier proberen ze het verschil tussen de THL-1 en de Hairmax te beschrijven:

The THL-1 Handheld Laser is the first handheld hair growth laser of its kind. Erchonia medical and Gaunitz HairGrowth Centers worked together for 2 years to create a more powerful, more convenient, and more effect homecare hair growth laser.

Why is THL-1 different than the other lasercombs on the market?

• More powerful– the THL-1 is a class IIIA laser. This means it puts out constant energy at 5 milliwatts. The lasercomb claims it is a class IIIA but it also states that the energy output is between 2-4 milliwatts. It is actually a class IIB. This is next level down from the class IIIA.
• Better Energy– the light that is used in the THL-1 is 635 nanometers, making the THL-1 more efficient and concentrated than the competition. For example; the lasercomb uses 5-9 unfocused 650 nanometer diodes (a less expensive and lower quality light).The THL-1 unit features one focused line generated beam of light, rather than a broad ray; this is critical in generating energy at a higher, faster rate. In fact, the THL-1 is so efficient that using it more than the recommended 4 minutes daily would be counterproductive.
• Better Quality– the THL-1 is manufactured by Erchonia medical. Erchonia is the US leader in Low Level Laser Therapy devices. They were the first in the US to have any LLLT device approved by the FDA and now how more than 7 different laser units FDA approved for different modalities.
• Easy to use– The THL-1 is used for 4 minutes a day (two minutes on the front, two minutes on the back). Most other units are requiring up to 20 minute treatment sessions 3 times weekly. The THL-1 is concentrated and not time consuming.
• More effective– the Gaunitz HairGrowth Centers program has been treating clients in their Scottsdale Arizona clinic since 2002. The hairgrowth regrowth results are second to none. This same program is offered exclusively with THL-1 laser for the complete homecare hair regrowth system.

Een beetje dezelfde claims als de Hairbeam van Versacchi dus. Ik vind het jammer dat er geen duidelijke info bestaat over het effect van verschillende sterktes lasers. Het was mooi geweest als Hairmax de FDA-studie had uitgevoerd met verschillende soorten lasers om het verschil te kunnen zien, net zoals studies met bijv. fina en duta ook met verschillende sterktes gebeurt. Nu weten we dus niet of een sterkere laser beter is of juist niet.

De video's op de site van Gaunitz zijn trouwens ook leuk om te kijken, met name de eerste is erg indrukwekkend!

Ik krijg verder geen hoogte van hoe dit apparaat van Gaunitz er precies uitziet en hoe breed de laserstraal is. Een voordeel van de Hairmax is toch wel dat de laserstraal heel breed is.

Heeft de HairMax een normale gebruiksklare Nederlandse stekker?

Ik heb bij mijn bestelling aangegeven dat ik uit Nederland kom, dan doen ze er een Europees kopstukje bij dat je op de adapter kan klikken waardoor het in het stopcontact past.
