Kao Launches Success Flavacyte Hair Restoration Tonic

Almost two years to the day after an anonymous Regrowth viewer reported that KAO Corporation of Tokyo, Japan was performing studies on a new treatment for hair loss, the company has announced it will launch its new product, Success Flavacyte, on February 22nd. The product contains Kao’s new proprietary ingredient, t-flavanone (trans-3,4’-dimethyl-3-hydorxyflavanone).

In the search for ingredients highly effective for hair growth, Kao reports that it has researched over 2,000 kinds of animal and plant extracts since 1989. As a result, the company believes that astilbin, a constituent in St. John's Wort, has high effectiveness for hair growth. Kao designed molecular analogues with a similar structure to develop the new ingredient “t-flavanone.”

Kao claims the new active ingredient t-flavanone promotes multiplication of cells in the hair bulb to make the hair bulb larger and the hair thicker and longer for maximum prevention of hair loss. In this way, KAO says, the health of the hair growth cycle is enhanced.

The product is fragrance free and will be marketed in Japan for 5,000 Yen (approximately $42 US as of February 18, 2003).

KAO's press release did not contain any clinical study information regarding the product. We will be contacting KAO in an attempt to ascertain if they have any specific claims regarding the results of their product or any scientific information to back up their claims.

Onder het artikel stond een link naar iemand die bij het onderzoek betrokken was. Hij was erg enthousiast over het product. Maar ja....... de resultaten van mij bij FNS zitten nog goed bij mij in het geheugen, dus eerst zien, dan geloven.
