Transmed or BHR or ProHair after all? (in english)

At first I would like say hello to you all in this forum. Unfortunately I can not speak dutch so I'm writing this in english.

I'm planning to have operation either at BHR clinic in Belgium or Transmed in Turkey. My NW scale is 5, but I have thin hair on all over the area so it's not looking so bad at the moment... I have asked online consultation from the both clinics and the information I have received is that I will need 4000+ grafts and on my case the suitable technique will be strip.

The cost is slight over 10000 euros at BHR clinic and under 8000 euros at Transmed. Should I choose the Transmed because it is over 2000 euros cheaper? Is the quality good in there? Or do you recommended to go BHR?

I'm really grateful if someone can give me some feedback and real life experiences of those clinics, so that I can finally make the decision where to go.

I have no experience with either clinic, but I personally would think twice about going to Turkey. It not so easy to go back when you're not satisfied.

Why is it down to those two clinics? Do you live in Belgium?

I live in Finland so anyway I have to travel abroad. I have been thinking also Prohair clinic, but on my case they have to do to separate sessions and the cost will be then over 10000 euros too. I prefer to have strip operation, because the amount of grafts is going to be quite huge.

Transmed in Turkey is recommended by hairtransplantnetwork.com and it has awarded by the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS). The costs are 7000-8000 euros.

BHR is more expensive, costs will be over 10000 euros. I have read only good from it, so that's why it's one of the options.

I have not decided the clinic yet, so any recommendations are welcome.

Hmmm, Prohair does a FUE 4000 for €8000,- in two consequetive days, if I read their site correctly. So why your procedure has to be more expensive and on two separate occasions, I don't know. Perhaps your donor area is too small?

Aesthetic Clinics, also in Belgium, does a FUT 4000 for €8450,- according to the price list on their site. Have you considered this clinic too? Dr. Feriduni has a good reputation on this forum.

Woouldn't it be cheaper to have a transplantion in Sweden?? Dr. Ilter is from Sweden...

Dr. Ilter only does FUE. There are no prices on his site, but do you remember his price when he worked with ProHair? 6 euro's per graft.

I also imagine the difference in price between flying to Belgium and staying in a hotel there for a week doesn't differ much from flying to Sweden and staying in a hotel there. The flight may be a little cheaper, but I guess hotels in Stockholm are more expensive.

Dr. Ilter in Sweden is much more expensive than the operation in Prohair clinic. I have read from swedish/finnish forums that the quality is not good in Ilter.

I'm looking only good clinic for FUT (strip) operation, because it can be done in one session and the quality should be better (more hairs will survive).

I was wondering it too, but they promised to cover only the front area at first two day session (3000 grafts). Then, the second session for the middle area (1000 grafts) was planned 2 monts after first operation. The third operation for my crown area was also in discussion, probably after 1-2 years.

ProHair is very conservative in their approach. This may be very good for the interests of clients in the long run, but it makes them appear less attractive to impatient clients who are willing to take some risks.

What I forgot to ask, is this your first transplantation or do you already have a scar?

This will be my first. If I will need another operation later on, it will be then FUE because then the amount of grafts will be quite small.

Are you doing something to try to prevent your situation from getting worse?

I have been using minoxidil (for example Rogaine) three years now and the hair loss has been stabilized. I think minoxidil is the reason why I have thin hair right now.

dont you use fina ? its best to halt your hairloss...
